DLDuit Lah

Works inside your family group chat

Say what you spent.
The bot writes it down.

Send a voice note to your family group. Duit Lah logs the amount, keeps the running total, and answers when you ask where the money went.

Speak Malay, English, or mix the two. It handles both.

Putting it in your group

Takes about a minute. Nothing to install.

One tap

Opens Telegram, shows your groups, adds the bot to the one you pick.

Add @duitlahbot to a group

Or do it by hand

  1. 1Search for the botOpen Telegram, tap the search box, type @duitlahbot. Tap it when it comes up.
  2. 2Add it to your groupTap the bot name at the top, then Add to Group or Channel. Pick your family group.
  3. 3It says hello by itselfNo setup, no commands. The bot posts a short card in the group telling everyone what to say.
  4. 4Send a voice noteHold the mic, say “beli grocery 87 ringgit”, let go. The bot shows you what it heard before it saves anything.
  5. 5Fix it if it got it wrongTap Amount or Category on the card. One tap, no forms, no menus.

Group getting noisy? Tap Quiet mode on the welcome card, or send /mode. The bot then only listens when you call it by name. Voice notes always work either way.

When you would use it

Four things that happen in every house.

Walking out of the shop

“Tesco 82 ringgit 10”

Three seconds, one hand, while you are still walking out. No app to open and no form to fill in.

💸 RM82.10 · 🛒 Groceries
Tesco · paid by Amirul
✏️ Amount🏷 Category

End of the month

“berapa duit makan bulan ni?”

Ask however it comes out of your mouth. The totals are worked out in Postgres and the bot only reads them back, so the number you get is the real number.

Bulan ni: RM486.20 untuk makan
Paling banyak minggu lepas, RM212.00.
Totals are calculated in the database, never by the model.

One person keeps paying for everything

“siapa hutang siapa?”

The bot records who paid, not just who spoke. Log something your wife paid for and it credits her, not you.

This month
Amirul paid RM1,240.00
Nurain paid RM1,067.00
Nurain owes Amirul RM86.50

Road tax is somewhere in a drawer

“📷 a photo of the policy”

Snap it and forget it. The bot reads the expiry, shows you what it read so you can correct it, then reminds you before it runs out.

📄 Insurance · expires 23 Aug 2026
Saved. I will remind you two weeks before.
The file stays in Telegram. Only the fields are kept here.

Why people keep using it

Most expense trackers die in week two. These are the reasons this one does not.

Voice notes, not forms

Nobody opens a budgeting app at the till. Say it in three seconds and carry on.

One shared ledger

Everyone in the group writes to the same book, and the bot remembers who paid. Say split by today and it works out who owes who.

Ask in your own words

“How much on groceries last month?” or “berapa duit keluar minggu ni?” The sums come from the database, not from a guess.

A daily list that forgets

Say “todo beli susu” and it goes on today’s list. Tomorrow the list is empty again.

Somewhere for the paperwork

Send a photo of an insurance policy or road tax. The bot reads the expiry and reminds you before it lapses.

What the bot can see

To receive voice notes in a group at all, Telegram requires the bot’s privacy mode to be off. That means group messages reach it. Here is what it does with them.

  • Voice notes are transcribed, the amount is pulled out, and the transcript is kept, so when it mishears you there is something to check against.
  • Documents stay in Telegram’s storage. The bot keeps a reference and the fields it read, not the file.
  • Ordinary group chatter is not stored, and is not read.
  • Voice notes are sent to OpenAI to be turned into text, and nowhere else. They do not train on it. Saying “nothing is shared” would be easier to write and would not be true.
  • Your spending is never sold, and never used to train anything.

Send /privacy to the bot for the same answer in the chat, or /deletemydata to erase everything, including cancelling any subscription first.

Try it in your family group

Add the bot, send one voice note, see if it gets it right. If it does not, one tap fixes it.
